Why we have to raise funds?

We do not receive any funding from the Government or local authority.

Our charity does not have any paying members and we are classified as ‘Animos sin lucro’, which an exact translation would be ‘intentions without profit’ in other words all the funds raised are used for helping the animals and none of our shop volunteers or the charity committee, which includes ourselves takes a wage in any way shape or form.

The funds raised are allocated to the following:

  • Vet consultations
  • Leishmania test and treatment if applicable.
  • Tablets/injections
  • Drops/collars for protection against flea, tick, mosquito, leishmania.
  • Sterilising dogs & cats that come into our care.
  • Sterilising feral cats whenever possible.
  • Worming.
  • Microchips
  • Unexpected operations
  • Flight/road transport for the animals that are homed here and abroad
  • Blood samples and passports.
  • Collaborating & helping some private individuals that rescue animals.
  • Projects expenses to help animals that come into our care.
  • Dog food
  • Special Puppy/kitten milk + food
  • Cat food
  • Cat litter
  • Collars and leads
  • Animal plastic houses for the Sanctuary, the foster homes inc. our home.
  • Beds
  • Toys
  • Other unforeseen expenses to help the animals
  • Mobile phone for A.I.D.
  • Fuel for the van (not the repairs, etc)

The medical bill for each puppy or grown dog can be from 100 – 200 euros each. This amount does not include things like other type of operations, food, collars, leads, flights, travel boxes etc.

 

We do not receive any funding from the Government or local authority

Set-up a monthly donation for a
rescue dog – 10 euros per month
