Information - Transport - Adoption Agreement

If you want to adopt an animal from us, first you must fill in the Adoption enquiry form. Click here 

Acceptance
If your application is accepted, you will receive an e-mail with the agreement Adoption Form and we will ask you which method do you wish to use to pay for the donation. You can pay via a bank transfer or by credit card via Paypal. The Donation must be received within 7 days.

Preparation for transport
The dogs will have a blood test shortly before departing; this is to reduce the chance of new infection danger as much as possible. If the results of the blood test are not good, then we will contact you about the outcome of the test.
The animals will travel with the necessary vaccinations, micro chip and EU passport.

Transportation
After we have received the donation from you we will arrange transportation for the animal, which can take a few weeks. If the animal is sent by aeroplane, it will fly with a volunteer from Malaga to Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Antwerp or Brussels.
The animals are transported in secure boxes in the plane where a special heated room is available.
In a few cases, the animals are transported by van. The van has air conditioning.

Arrival
The transfer of the animal in principle takes place in the arrival hall.
In the case of transport by car, another location will be agreed with you and the animal will then be signed over to you.

Adoption Cost
The total cost, including care, passport, chip, vaccinations, blood tests and transportation for dogs will be a total of 275.00 Euro each and for cats a total of 175.00 Euro each

ADOPTER'S AGREEMENT
I agree that the animal is being adopted for myself and will not be sold, adopted, or given to another party and that it wont be allowed to engage in dog fighting or pursue any guard dog or attack dog training and that upon adopting this pet, I am entering a long-term commitment and understand that it is my responsibility to provide for this pet's needs.

(If adopting a cat) I agree that I will not de-claw the cat.
(If adopting a dog) I agree that this dog is to be a companion animal, not a guard dog and that it will be sterilised (if female) within 2 months of the adoption or 4 weeks after her first season) and castrated (if male) within 2 months after the adoption. This applies to Cats and Dogs

I agree to obey local licensing and animal confinement laws and that the animal will wear proper ID.

I agree to care for the animal in a humane manner and be a responsible animal guardian.
This includes supplying adequate food, water, shelter, attention, and medical care in the form of annual vaccinations, preventive heart worm medications and appropriate, and such veterinary care as is necessary to prevent and/or treat accidents and illness.

I understand and agree that the current rescue makes no guarantees about the animal's temperament and is not responsible for future damages or injuries caused by the animal.

I have been informed that all animals can from time to time carry and transmit diseases some of which affect people, including bacteria, viruses, parasite, and ringworm and that these diseases may be undetectable in what appears to be a healthy animal at the time of adoption.

I accept the animal as it is at the time of adoption and understand that Animals-In-Distress is not responsible for any medical conditions not readily detected prior to or at the time of this adoption or discovered after such adoption.

I acknowledge that I have read this agreement and hereby release Animals-In-Distress from any present or future liability associated with my adoption or this animal and I will not ask or claim any refunds from Animals In Distress.

I agree that all statements I have made on this form are true. If it is found that any statements I have made on this form are not true the adopted animal can be confiscated.
