Sponsored 7km Walk around Monda Area

May 8th - Saturday 11.30am - Sponsored walk with Dogs – 8th May 2010

Do you fancy a nice walk with your dog (or someone else’s dog) and at the same time help stray/abandoned animals? You can help them with one or both of these options: 1. You can come and walk your dog (or a rescue dog from A.I.D.) 2. You can ask family, friends or workmates to sponsor your walk (With or without a dog)

Entry will be 1 euro, which will be for a raffle prize at the end of the walk Come and enjoy a walk with your dog and friends. Walk your dog on a lead, wear suitable shoes and bring a drink. You can still come for the walk even if you do not have a dog. Perhaps you may wish to walk a rescued dog from A.I.D. (please advise beforehand for this option) ITENARY: Roy from The Mortgage Service Group will be the guide for the Sponsored Walk and we shall meet at  11.30am at the Monda Car Park where the weekly market is held.  The walk will be nice and easy, we will leave the car park on foot, making our way out of Monda and we will take up the old roman road and cross the stream. We will then join the track with quite a flat walk for approx 2km then we will start a loop with a gradual climb where we will get some great views of Monda village. We will stop for refreshment and allow people to catch up and have their snacks/drink and water the dogs at a viewing place then work our way back to Monda. The walk wiil take approximately 1.5hrs and finish at a local bar by the fountain in Monda where the draw for the raffle will take place.
